MC-255 (HD), a heavy-duty unit manufactured from grey cast iron, meeting the requirements of ASTM A48 for material standards. The product is fully compliant with BS EN 124 standards, specifically Load Class D 400, making it suitable for installation in areas subject to heavy vehicular traffic with loads up to 40 tons.
The cover is designed in a square configuration with a precision-machined bearing surface between the cover and frame to ensure a tight, vibration-minimizing fit. It features a clear opening of 800x 800 mm, with an overall base dimension of 960 x 960 mm and a depth of 100 mm, providing robust structural integrity and long service life under heavy-duty applications.

A single-seal register that limits the ingress of water and gases, helping to maintain sanitary conditions and system integrity.
Four closed keyholes provide enhanced security and access control while preventing surface water and debris from entering the system. The closed design also allows for safe and efficient lifting using appropriate tools, reducing the risk of slippage or damage.
A rubber gasket is included to provide additional sealing between the cover and frame, reducing vibration, noise, and long-term wear, particularly in high-traffic areas.
The standard protective coating for the MC-255 (HD) is Coal Tar Epoxy, which offers excellent resistance to chemicals, moisture, and corrosive environments. An optional Black Bitumen coating is also available for applications with less aggressive exposure conditions.
Each cover is clearly and permanently marked with a cast-in inscription indicating the manufacturer’s name, production batch number, and utility identification (e.g., SEWER, WATER, STORM, ELECTRIC, TELECOM) in both Arabic and English. The inscription also includes the load class, relevant standards, country of origin, and the project name if specified. This ensures complete traceability, compliance with project specifications, and ease of inspection and maintenance.
